Amenities such as easy seat booking, online check-in 24 hours in advance, and mobile boarding passes are all part of it, so that travelers can avoid archaic paper tickets and make airport procedures easier. Additional checked bags and prepayment of fees in advance can also be done through the app, reducing time spent at the airport. For loyal travelers, the app offers a dedicated section to monitor AAdvantage miles, status, and account management, making it easier to be part of the loyalty program.

Despite these enhancements, most users report persistent issues that detract from the overall experience. App instability, slow loading, and sometimes refusal to process payments or save information entered while making a booking are some of the frequently reported issues. Some users have been hounded by problems with mobile boarding passes being rejected by TSA scanners, and they are forced to revert to printed tickets, which goes against the convenience promised by the app. The app also occasionally fails to inform users when they are not checked in, which results in confusion and missed flights.
